sometimes I see them talking about 'another dev changed foo' and it breaks them. There should be pretty much no reason for devs to leave their worktree.
We know /tmp from root is wiped on reset.
We can store logs from tooling, infra, and elsewhere in worktree/tmp, programs can dump full logs there so they can be inspected in the event of failures., and just make it gitignored.
