Goal: Add design 010's one-line entry to design_docs/README.md's ## Index, and fix whatever else is stale in that section while a session is already in there.
Context: Found as a side-finding while another session was gathering evidence for a design-011 read: the Index (design_docs/README.md:123) lists 001–009 then jumps straight to 011 (design_docs/README.md:135-136) — 010 (010-co-located-tests-and-probes.md) has no entry. README.md itself says *"Add one line here for every doc. A doc missing from this index is a doc nobody finds."* (line 120-121).
Files: design_docs/README.md (the Index section only), design_docs/010-co-located-tests-and-probes.md (source for the entry — read its header for Status/Refs).
Behavior: One new bulleted line for 010, in numeric order between 009 and 011, matching the existing entries' format: **[010 — <title>](010-co-located-tests-and-probes.md)** — <status> (<attribution/refs if any>) — <one or two sentence gist of the decision and why>. The doc's header (as of this filing) reads Status: accepted — decided by Aedan in chat, 2026-08-17, Project: https://github.com/orgs/cfsh/projects/8, no ## Amendments section yet — verify these are still current at claim time rather than trusting this issue body, and reflect the doc's actual current state.
Also check: whether 012 is genuinely the next free design-doc number (010 and 011 are both taken; nothing above 011 exists as of this filing) — no doc content to write, just don't let this issue imply a doc needs creating.
Done when: design_docs/README.md's Index has a 010 line, in the right numeric position, matching the sibling entries' format and voice; nothing else in the Index changed unless it was also found stale.
Test plan: none — prose-only change to a .md file. Note in the PR which box you're on per notes/machines.md convention if relevant, though this diff doesn't need a gate run.
