Twinned from https://github.com/cfsh/ninefold/issues/744 by tools/beads/import_github.py's reconcile pass.
We should frontload the principled thinking, and get these into the codebase.
This would help the design substrate for https://github.com/cfsh/ninefold/issues/733 for example, making review_now a really nice unix black box, and such principles would extend to presubmit infra, and various other components that have been rolled together at pace.
This is mostly an issue where I need to do work (in partnership with a dev).
I have a rough doc of unix principles, it needs some tweaks and corrections to be best fit for this codebase.
I would also like a survey of my comments on PRs and Issues, quotes attributed to me from chats that ended up on PRs and Issues, and my direct directions on design docs (not the model thinking of lots of stuff) - and compile these into style guide / principles too.
We currently have PRINCIPLES.md, which is a bit autobiographical and historical. Want to avoid a proliferation of files.
Probably we continue with our successful pattern of having one file for longer historical / prose musings, and another short file of punchy principles.
short-form are frontloaded to devs (referenced as a must-read from claude.md), and long-form is also a must-read for /design command. Reviewer agent is encouraged to quote short-form as part of reviewing code.
Not sure if we'll end up with a split of style guide type feedback vs. philosophical direction, but prob still best to combine in one file.
Apologies if this creates a dupe, I'm sure I ranted about this elsewhere too.
